Here I am, being happy! I do it a lot.

Swim time

Today there's no picture, because our activity was wet! This morning me and Mommy went to my first swim class at the Y. I had such a good time! There's a big pool and so many people to watch and even other babies like me to smile at. I splashed in the water a lot and we sang silly songs and I tried to eat my kickboard. (It was bright yellow!) I even did a pretty good job hanging onto the kickboard and kicking my legs a little. I stood on the side and "jumped" in and I'm working on pushing off on my back from the side. I like the water A LOT! Can we do it again, Mommy?

I'm a big girl now! (well, sort of)

My First Real Food! Wow! I liked it at first, but then I wasn't so sure. It tasted like Mommy...except there was this other stuff in it. Hmmm. I liked to help with the spoon! After a little while, I blew raspberries with the stuff. Daddy said it wasn't helpful!

I decided to get a little radical this evening. Mommy and Daddy are hoping this is all the rebelling I do for a while.

Six month checkup

This morning we went to the doctor for my six month checkup. I helped the nice doctor with his stethoscope when he was listening to my heart. He said I was beautiful! And that I get to start eating food like Mommy and Daddy eat! I think that might be pretty good. The doctor also said I've definitely got bottom teeth coming in -- gosh, is that why chewing on frozen wet washcloths feels so good? But then I got SHOTS. It was horrible. I screamed. But now we're home, and Daddy gave me Tylenol, and I'm just gonna sleep for the rest of the day, because shots make me feel yucky!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am six months today! Mommy and Daddy say, "We can't believe that it's been six months already, and it's hard to imagine life before Joy." Guess that means I'm special!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... NAKED BABY!

Yahoo! Today Mommy and Daddy let me have some naked time. Wow, was it great! I rolled around on the floor,


practiced getting up on my hands and knees -- I know it's useful for something, especially if I rock back and forth --


played fun games with Mommy -- she jiggled my jelly belly, and that was really funny --


and practiced pulling up to stand, so I could eat Mommy's nose. Yum!


Mommy and Daddy were impressed: I didn't pee, not even a little bit! I had a really, really good time.

The Player

Last night at the dance, I played the piano with Ronnie. I remembered what the piano is for: banging on! I also like to play with my feet.

Swingin' baby!

Who said the jumpy seat is just for jumping? Me, I like to SWING! I bounce and push and then pick up my feet and whee! I can grab Mommy or Daddy or the dog.

Look out, world, here I come!

I decided today that I'm not going to bother with this whole crawling business.... I think I'll go directly to standing and walking! Well, I might need to work on the walking part yet, but I can pull myself up to stand now! Aunt Megan, this is the first part of Flower Girl Boot Camp, right?

Yay, Aunt Megan!!!

I'm getting a new aunt: Uncle Michael and Megan are getting married! She wants me and her niece Mackenzie (who's a little younger than me) to be the flower girls in the wedding. Guess I better hurry up and learn how to walk! Can I wear a bright red dress?

Over the river and through the woods...

Silly Daddy went away for a conference, so Mommy and I headed out to Peach Glen! I got to meet "Gramma" Katie and "Grandpa" Steve, get lots and lots of doggie lovin', including from my buddy Roanoke, who's almost the age as me!

We went for a nice long walk through the woods and fields...

...and Uncle Michael and I played the piano together! What fun!

I'm tired a lot, but gosh! I'm having a super time! I get lots and lots of kisses, too. Mommy says we'll put up more pictures later.
