Dancing with Dad

Today I decided to stand on Daddy's feet, and he started moving them around and singing. He said we were dancing! I liked it a lot. When I fell off, I picked my feet right back up and put them back on his so we could keep dancing.

Bustin' through!!

I've been pretty cranky this last week or so -- something hurts all the time, and I can't do anything about it! And then Mommy and Daddy try and stick oogey gooey stuff in my mouth and say it'll make me feel better -- humph. But soon, they promise it'll be better: they can see TEETH coming through my bottom gums! TWO of them! Wow. Does that mean I can eat watermelon all by myself?

My new hat

This morning was storytime at the library -- I like it very much, because there are other kids and babies to watch, and Miss Michelle sings songs. Today she gave us all special hats!

Playing with Barbara

Yesterday was our visit with Barbara and Steve, and Barbara always has good toys for me to play with! The metal bowl was really cool because it spun around and rattled. I thought it was pretty funny, too, when Mommy put it on my head!

Baby's new trick

This morning I figured out how to stick out my tongue! Mommy and Daddy laugh at me a lot when I do it. They think it's especially funny when I'm crawling around sticking my tongue out. Hey, I gotta practice!

First watermelon of the summer

Tonight for dinner, I got to eat all by myself. That was pretty cool, but what made it even more wonderful was that the feeder doodle had watermelon in it! YUMMMMMMM! I chowed down one piece and Mommy took it away to refill it and I howled. But then she gave it back and I was very, very happy. It's also good for banging on the table! (Mommy says, "Do we notice a theme here?")

Class mascot

Last night was the last Plymouth Meeting dance class of the summer. I'm the class mascot! Here I am with my friend Morgan.

And I have a new favorite favorite food: ice cold cantaloupe! Mommy let me chew on the rind, and gosh was it good! I liked it so much that I SCREAMED when Mommy took it away!

Sproing

Today I discovered that cool little doodle on the wall behind the front door (trans.: the doorstopper) -- when I grab it and pull and then let go, it makes the neatest sproingy noise! I sat there grabbing it for a long time -- Daddy heard it over the phone and it made him laugh.

New thing!

I love to drink water out of a cup, but I usually end up with it all over me and I choke. So today Mommy gave me my first sippy cup! I figured it out pretty quick. It's also great fun to bang against the table.

Budding virtuoso

I like the big pianos, but I discovered that I have my very own little piano at home! I love to play it soooo much. I like to crawl all over the living room, but I have to stop and go back sometimes to play the piano. It makes me happy! (By the way, my shirt says, "i don't have to be good... i'm cute!" It's so true.)

My new friend

There's this black thing in the kitchen... it has a baby in it and it makes noise and vibrates.....

Going after toys

Today I spent some time crawling around on the floor, and I found my bead toy! So I dragged it out and played with it. Very nifty.

Visit to Weather'd Wood

Yesterday we visited Great-Granddaddy. I was a little scared of him at first, because it's been a long time since I saw him, but then he made me laugh! It's so pretty and green up there, with lots and lots of flowers. Tigger also made me laugh, because he wanted me to play with him and he growled a lot. Funny Tigger!

Caution: baby on the move!

I'm getting better and better at this crawling business! Especially when I'm naked.... Here I am on the move! I went after the cat too and grabbed his tail. He didn't much care for that.

Everything is better naked. See how happy I am?

Weekend at Peach Glen

This weekend we went out to visit Grammy and Granddaddy. I got to meet Great-Aunt Pam and cousin Jonathon!

It was very hot, so I got to take baths outside!

I had lots of help.

Splashing is so much fun!

I also like to lick my tub. Everyone laughs at me a lot when I do that. If only they knew how good it is!

I got to sleep in with Dad; I like snuggling with him. (Yes, I do sleep with my eyes open like that!)

And Granddaddy put up a swing just for me! Wheeeeee!

Cranky baby

This afternoon I'm being really cranky because I'm tired, so Mommy finally figured out how to strap me to her back. I didn't know she could do that! It made me happier. I like being attached to Mommy.

Thursday, July 5

Happy baby, happy mom

Mommy had a brainstorm the other day and got me a jumpy seat for upstairs, so that she can put me down somewhere happy! And check it out: my very first pair of shoes! They have tonbo on them -- that's Japanese for dragonfly.

Happy Fourth of July!

I think I like holidays. It means it's time for a PARTY! Today we went to our friends Line and Terry's house. They have a DOG! Her name is Puffin, and she's nice. She nibbled my toes. I thought her cage was fun too, because I could pull up on it.

I also discovered the best food on the planet: corn on the cob!!! YUM! Grammy, can we have some this weekend? I bet you can get some good stuff! (Check out my very festive outfit. It was just barely warm enough today to wear it -- which also meant I didn't get to go swimming. But Mommy let me dangle my feet and splash a little. I didn't care that everyone else seemed to think the water was really cold.)

Monday, July 2

Mommy's little helper

Today I helped with the laundry! Does sucking on drawstrings count as helping?

Sunday, July 1

Big kid fun

This afternoon we went to a big kids' playground. They had swings just for me! Wow, SO much fun! I can swing a lot more than I can in my jumpy seat. Then Mom took me up on the really big kids' stuff: the jungle gym. We went down the slide, which I'm not sure I liked as much as swinging. Then Dad decided we needed to swing in a big kids' swing. I want to go to the playground every day, okay? Granddaddy, I hope you have a swing ready for me when I come visit this weekend!

Playing games

Yesterday our friends Tom and J came over to play games with Mommy and Daddy. I like J, even if she wouldn't let me eat those fabulously interesting teeny game pieces! I really did want to help. Everyone else said I helped because I distracted J a lot.
